Current Need

 

The Software Development Group is responsible for the requirement analysis, design, implementation, module testing, maintenance and support of all EMI products. Position Description

 

* Responsible for software design and implementation of multiple modules or a subsystem (client or server) of a larger product requiring proficiency in more than one language or operating system and a knowledge of some cross product dependencies.

* Performs logical/algorithmic design with assistance from others, may do some structural/logical design with assistance, and can generalize knowledge to new environments.

* Develops, documents, debugs and maintains software in accordance with requirements and use cases.

* Participatesin design and code reviews with other project team members.

* Works closely with other project team members to ensure requirements are clearly understood and communicated and ensure that test plans and procedures adequately test delivered software.

* Contributes tothe technical contents of Product Documentation for assigned modules or subsystem.

* Works closely with Production & Installation, Service and Customer Support to investigate and fix complex product defects, and issues timely Hot Fixes (PTFs) as required.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

2+ years experience in software engineering

 

Critical Skills

 

Commercial programming experience in

* C++

* C#

* COM/DCOM

* Some knowledge and/or experience in memory management

* Some knowledge and/or experience in Multi-threading

Other critical skills:

* Good English communication skills (both verbal and written) suitable for interacting constructively with peers and stakeholders within and outside of Engineering.

* Good organizational, technical leadership skills and inter-personal skills.

 

Additional Knowledge & Skills

 

* Creating & investigating crash dumps

* Good debugging skills

* Analytic skills to investigate log files

* WPF/WCF

* Objective C

* .Net

* SQL

* Knowledge of ISO 9001, FDA Quality System Regulation and CMM.

* Up to 3 years working experience in commercial software development. Familiar with software engineering methodology and tools, SDLC methodologies (i.e. iterative, Agile, etc.) and design, implementation, test and release.cycle.

* Working knowledge of software engineering

 

Education

 

4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
